Church Planting/Replanting Residency

After ministering in Middle Georgia for many years, we are convinced that there is a great need here in Macon and beyond for healthy, vibrant local churches who are working to reach the tens of thousands of people who do not love and follow Jesus with the Gospel. In Macon alone, the North American Mission Board estimates the number of unchurched to be about 100,000 people.

Despite the large number of unchurched in our area, there are many churches with dwindling memberships and declining attendance. We do not believe that this is God’s desire for our city! We believe that God desires to see those far from Him brought near and the lost to be saved. We believe that when a church humbly desires to glorify Him and pursue the people around them with the good news of Jesus, genuine revitalization can take place. Often churches need help, resources and the right people involved in order to transition back to vibrancy. Our hope is to help declining or “near death” churches in that transition.

In order to effectively reach our world we must actively position ourselves to grow and develop into who God has called us to be. And that requires some training and development! New Gospel-centered churches must be planted, and declining churches must be brought back to life! All believers must be equipped – we are all missionaries!

New City Church has launched a “Replant Residency”, a 9-month program that equips Church Planting Pastors and Church Replanting Pastors for the work ahead.  These residencies are designed to equip the head, heart and hands of emerging leaders for the mission at hand.

Here is a little encouragement from a couple of our residents:

Each Residency Cycle begins in September and runs through June.
